Obama has more baggage to explain

It seems that Senator Obama has some explaining to do about his past again. It turns out that he really was/is a member of the Marxist "New Party" after all. the Obama campaign along with the New Party and Democratic Socialists of America claimed that Obama was never a member of either organization. They managed to remove Obama's name from their website, but what they hadn't counted on is the existence of Internet Archives.

For those of you not familiar with this radical socialist political party, you can read their "about us" page from the web archives here.

Getting back to Senator Obama's membership in this party, let me quote from the article;

October 1996 Update :
Running to Win : The Key Races
New Party members are busy knocking on doors, hammering down lawn signs, and phoning voters to support NP candidates this fall. Here are some of our key races:

Arkansas: The Little Rock New Party has a full slate of candidates up for election in November. LRNP steering committee member Michael Booker is running unopposed for re-election to the Arkansas State House. Two NP members - Paul Kelly and Genevieve Stewart - are running for at-large (city-wide) city council positions. And in a head-to-head battle between the New Party and the conservative right, NP member Jayne Cia faces the Arkansas state chair of Empower America (Jack Kemp and Bill Bennett's organization) for a Justice of the Peace (county board) position.

Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).

In another article from New populist.org, we read that;

New Party member Barack Obama was uncontested for a State Senate seat from Chicago.

Another socialist organization that has reported on Senator Obama's membership in the New Party was the Democratic Socialist Party of America. You might recall, they now deny any of this, but an interesting article is to be found mentioning Senator Obama reads;

Candidates must be approved via a NP political committee. Once approved, candidates must sign a contract with the NP. The contract mandates that they must have a visible and active relationship with the NP.

The political entourage included Alderman Michael Chandler, William Delgado, chief of staff for State Rep Miguel del Valle, and spokespersons for State Sen. Alice Palmer, Sonya Sanchez, chief of staff for State Sen. Jesse Garcia, who is running for State Rep in Garcia's District; and Barack Obama, chief of staff for State Sen. Alice Palmer. Obama is running for Palmer's vacant seat.

Senator Obama, Why do you consistently cover up your past and throw off all of your old associations? Is there anything about you that is real? Anything at all? Did you sign a contract with the New Party? We want to know.

I know, I know. This is just more Rovian politics. Every time you hear that card played, you know the liberals have lost the argument. Hey, I'm a Libertarian. I don't care for the blue blood country club Republicans form of government either. But at least they are not Marxists elitists who would take every liberty you have in order to institute a new socialist America.
